A BUSY Evesham car park will close in September for two weeks as part of a £75,000 revamp.
The Bewdley Street Car Park will be fully resurfaced for the first time since it was built in 1980 after Wychavon District Council, which approved the plans last month, found it was ‘no longer economical’ to carry on patching up the worn out tarmac.
It will close on Monday, September 12 for a maximum of two weeks. Although council chiefs believe motorists may be able to start using it again by Saturday, September 23.
Contractors will though begin preliminary drainage work on Tuesday, August 30, but the car park will remain open.
Drivers are being advised to use alternative car parks in the town during the resurfacing work.
