NEW CREATIVE movement classes are being launched in Pershore for toddlers.
Wychavon District Council and the Vale of Evesham Network of Artists have teamed up to launch ‘Grown-ups and Wigglers’, at Pershore Number 8 Community Arts Centre on Friday, September 23.
Taken by a professional dance teacher, the classes are fun, interactive and help children to develop essential co-ordination and balance skills, as well as helping to keep the parent or carer fit and active.
Classes will also be launched in Evesham after the October half-term.
Jenny Davis, arts development officer at Wychavon District Council said: “As a parent myself, I found it difficult to exercise and keep fit when my child was under five.
“I couldn’t afford the gym and the local leisure centres didn’t offer crèche facilities, so I thought why not offer something where children aged two to four can come along with a parent or carer and exercise in a fun way.
“The classes usually have a different theme each week, such as under the sea or a trip to the park and use a wide variety of props including ribbons and a parachute to aid the movement.”
The class will run from 11am to midday and costs £5.50 for an adult and toddler or £7.50 for an adult and two toddlers.
