AN IMAGINATIVE pupil has won first prize in a design competition and will see her work brought to life at an Evesham show home.
Daisy Murray, a year four pupil at St Andrew’s C E Primary School in Hampton, created an oriental-inspired scheme for the Design a Bedroom Competition for Bloor’s The Hamptons development.
The scheme, which included an erupting Japanese volcano, lanterns and a mural of blossom flowers on the walls, will now be used by interior designer Sarah Thomas to create the bedroom in the showhome on the Pershore Road development.
Sally Holt, regional sales manager for Bloor Homes, said choosing a winner was difficult because of the quality of the entries and she congratulated Daisy for her imaginative design.
“It showed us something unique which will look fantastic in the new showhome at The Hamptons.
“It is now our job to make Daisy’s vision a reality and to do her design justice.”
And she added she was looking forward to welcoming Daisy to the showhome when the design had been completed so she could see her creation in all its glory.
The runners-up were Olivia Hancock and Mason Rimmer. All three students received gift vouchers to congratulate and thank them for their designs.
St Andrew’s headteacher Adam Spencer said the children were really excited and the chance to see their design replicated in real life really motivated them.
“The winning design was inspired by the topic her class had been studying that term and we are really eager to see her design in the showhome.”
