WORK has begun to build the B&M store on Worcester Road as the former Midlands Electricity Depot is demolished.
Builders moved in last month to revitalise the derelict site to make way for the brand new store, which is due to open its doors in spring 2017, and is expected to create more than 60 jobs.
The store will boast an extensive DIY, decorating and furniture range, as well as a large homeware collection, electricals and a garden centre.
Wychavon planning chiefs backed plans for the store to be built back in April of last year; despite concerns from Evesham Town Council it will take business out of the town centre.
A B&M spokesperson, said: “We’re feeling really positive about the creation of more than 60 new jobs for local people and we hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store.
“We are really excited to get the doors open and welcome our new customers through the door next year.”
