Make a date with photo competition

Evesham Editorial 20th Mar, 2016 Updated: 20th Oct, 2016   0

THE DEADLINE is looming for Evesham and Pershore residents to enter a popular photo competition.

Entries for the annual Worcestershire Wildlife Trust photography competition must be made by Monday, April 11, for residents to stand a chance at having their winning photos feature in the Trust’s 2017 calendar.

The aim of the competition is to highlight and praise images which celebrate the wonder and diversity of Worcestershire’s wildlife.

The 12 winning photographs will feature as A4 images in the calendar, with one lucky photographer taking the prized front cover.

The calendar raises funds for the Trust’s conservation work across the county as well as offering the opportunity for photographers to have their work showcased further afield.

Wendy Carter, communications manager at the Trust said: “This is all about putting Worcestershire’s wildlife and beautiful countryside in the frame. Last year more than 60 photographers entered more than 320 images for us to enjoy.

“The quality of photos is always very impressive and we’re fortunate to have two excellent photographers to help us judge the competition in previous winners Jason Curtis and Pete Walkden.

“Whether it be a bird or a beetle, a patch of wildflowers or an orchard full of blossom, we’re looking for the most inspiring and eye-catching images that reflect the splendour of Worcestershire’s natural world.”
