BROADWAY Golf Club’s captains brought in the new year in style at the weekend when they each made their first drive into 2016.
There was a brief respite from the rain as club supporters turned out in their droves to watch as all four stepped up to the tee to launch their year of captaincy.
The quartet were led by the 2016 ladies’ captain Brenda Whittingham, who showed the way with a glorious shot, superbly matched by seniors captain Rod Hooper.
Junior captain Will Icke followed and demonstrated all his youthful agility as he creamed his drive straight down the middle out of sight.
Club captain Barry Cubitt had no hesitation in sending a fourth and final excellent shot into the distance to successfully complete proceedings.
All then retired to the warmth of the clubhouse to enjoy a fabulous new year’s carvery prepared by Broadway’s superb catering team at Fayreways UK.
