Buckles set to be swashed

A SWASHBUCKLING pantomime is heading to Fladbury to invite residents on its treasure hunt.

The Fladbury Players latest production, Treasure Island, will be performed from Thursday October, 29 to Saturday October, 31 at Fladbury Village Hall.

The high-octane pantomime is based on a classic pirate adventure, following the life of Jim Hawkins (Josh Irvine) and his mother (Rob Brown), as they journey to find Captain Flint’s treasure, with the help of Squire Trelawney (John Airey) and his daughter Felicity (Erin Young).

On the way they must escape the clutches of Long John Silver (Paul Tapley), with his sarcastic parrot Polly (Jodie Young) and his evil pirate band, including the dim-witted pair Brass and Knuckles (Jon Brotherton and Matt Owens).

Robinson Crusoe (Pete Spence) will try to save the day, as Captain Corker’un (Michelle Brotherton) hides a secret and the Fairy Godmother’s (Niamh Irvine) magic tries to last the show.

The performances start at 7.30pm midweek and 2.30pm on Saturday.

Tickets cost £8 for adults, £4 for children and £20 for families, and are available from Fladbury Pies and Sausages and the Chequers and Anchor Inn.

Call John Airey on 01386 860043 for more information.
