MORE than 200 students from schools across Pershore took part in the annual Warriors Rugby Festival.
With the Rugby World Cup in full swing, sport mad students joined the scrummage in the festival at Wyre Piddle on Friday (October 2).
The event was organised by Pershore Rugby Football Club in partnership with the Worcester Warriors Community Team, who are focused on providing grass roots support to clubs and schools in the area.
The idea behind the event was to get kids active and involved in a team sport, as well as to let them experience a sport they may have only seen on TV.
Warriors community coach, Sam Verralls said: “Pershore are one of over 25 partner clubs with the Warriors.
“What it’s all about for us is to go into those clubs and educate them about rugby and growing the game at grass roots level, working with both boys and girls from the ages of four to 16.”
