STAFF at Evesham’s two supermarket giants are set to lace up their football boots and raise hundreds of pounds for charity by taking part in the annual Retail Challenge Cup.

Next Sunday’s (August 17) match between Tesco and Morrisons takes place at Evesham United’s Spiers and Hartwell Jubilee Stadium and all proceeds will go to St Richard’s Hospice.

The popular fund-raiser, now in its 16th year, is once again being organised by Mark Payne in memory of his mum Gill who was cared for by St Richard’s when she was diagnosed with terminal breast cancer in 1997.

A tombola, raffle and bouncy castle are among the entertainment while rising Cheltenham Town star Adam Powell will be on hand to present the trophy to the winning team.

The game kicks off at 5pm and tickets are £2 for adults and £1 for children and OAPs.
