LOVERS of Medieval and contemporary music are in for a treat when Aphelion pay a visit to All Saints Church.

The concert will be held on May 2 from 7.30pm and raise cash for the Bell Tower Appeal with an evening of contemplative sounds – medieval plainchant meets contemporary textures in the form of piano improvisations, minimalist loops and drones.

Vocal music from the likes of 12th century mystic Hildegard of Bingen alongside pieces by Vivaldi, John Dowland and the contemporary composers Meredith Monk, Gavin Bryars and Arvo Part will be among the sounds on offer.

Tickets are £10 to include an interval drink and are available from the Almonry, the church office and Sue Ablett.
