THERE were celebrations at Broadway Bowling Club when three members were selected to represent England in the Home International Series in June 2015.
Sue Davies and Amy Stanton retained their places in the ladies’ squad, whilst there is a debut for Andrew Walters in the men’s team.
All players were very successful at the National Championships this year, with Stanton winning the junior singles and finishing runner-up in the junior pairs.
Davies reached the semi-finals of the senior singles and the ladies’ pairs with Stanton, whilst Davies, Stanton and Maureen Ford reached the quarter-finals of the ladies’ triples.
Walters reached the quarter-finals of the triples competition with Steve Aldren and Roger Ashby and then he and Davies reached the quarter-finals of the national mixed pairs competition, losing to the eventual winners by one shot.
All in all it has been a great year for Broadway Bowling Club.
