THE NEW head chef of a popular Vale hotel has said he wants to take its food to the next level.

Jon Ingram, 37, will be leading the kitchen at the Dormy House Hotel near Broadway and comes with international pedigree.

Mr Ingram arrives at the recently re-launched hotel after previously working in kitchens in London, Dubai and Cliveden in Berkshire.

“I am really excited to be joining the team at Dormy House.” he said. “There is such a buzz about the place.

“I am determined to make the hotel renowned for its food as well as its style, service and location. After nearly five years in

London, it’s also great to get some fresh air in my lungs!

“I want to take this wonderful opportunity and give it my own stamp. Both The Garden Room and The Potting Shed are fast

gaining a great reputation and I intend to take them to the next level.”

Born in Kent, Jon began his culinary career at Champneys health resort in Tring, progressing to Cliveden, one of the UK’s finest country house hotels, and the famous Burj al Arab in Dubai.

Missing home, Jon returned to the prestigious Grove Hotel in London. Five years later he was Executive Head Chef in the opening team of the Mint Hotel at the Tower of London. His restaurants there included the famous Sky Lounge, one of the

capital’s most impressive roof-top bars.

“It’s great to move to the Cotswolds from both a personal and a professional point of view.” he added.

“My two boys need a lot of space to run around and there’s plenty of that here. It’s also wonderful to have so much fantastic local produce on our doorstep.”
