Pershore Town 0 Lichfield City 1

Midland League Division One

TOWN’S three-match winning run was ended on Saturday as high-flying Lichfield City took maximum points at the 2020SolarPV Stadium.

Both teams played good football in an evenly contested first half but the visitors took a grip on the game in the second period.

Despite another strong defensive performance from Pershore, they conceded the only goal of the match midway through the half when Lichfield’s Phillip McKerdy scored with a header inside the far post from a corner.

The visitors also hit the woodwork, whilst Town’s best chance fell to Steve Roche who, having been put through by Oliver Casey, steered his effort wide of the keeper only for a Lichfield defender to hook the ball off the line.

Town return to action on March 19 at home to Heath Hayes.
