Promotion-chasing Quinton are spot on to reach cup final

BIRDSEYE Sports Evesham Sunday League Division Three leaders Quinton reached the Express-Funding Mick Godwin Cup final with a penalty shoot-out win over Division Two promotion-chasers Alderton.

Quinton took the lead through a first half Brocklehurst goal before a second half Dawson effort levelled matters and the match finished 1-1.

Quinton’s final opponents will be Inkberrow who won 4-1 at Stour Excelsior Reserves with goals from Hughes, Perkins, Griffiths and Sheen.

Sun Inn lifted their second trophy of the season – the Bluck Cup – after a 6-0 win over Pebworth in which Jacks Watts scored a hat-trick, Adam Collins struck a superb goal from 30 yards and further goals were added by Roberts and Wood.




Dragons boosted their Division Three promotion hopes with an emphatic 7-1 win at Fortis thanks to goals from Lane (2), Izod, Jennings, Sheppard, Stride and Herborn.

League champions Bretforton Old Boys defeated Pinvin United 2-0 with goals from Brown and Richardson, whilst Cider Mill won 5-1 at Bear as Reading (3), Ballard and Tomkotowicz did the damage.


In Division Two, Charlton Old Boys completed their season with an emphatic 10-3 victory over New Inn Pershore as Andy Clements (3), Chris Clements (2), Dickenson (2), Rimmer, Saunders and Ainsworth scored the goals.

Harvington won 4-2 at Evesham United Sunday through goals from Hennessey, Woodfield, Wallace and Philpott, whilst Coe was on the mark for the hosts.

Tesco United edged out Ecosamba 6-5 in the battle of the bottom two as Steele and Stevens both scored twice for Tesco and Lewis did likewise for the visitors.

Cropthorne saw off Badsey Recreation 4-3 as Conway, Bishop and Banning scored for Badsey but Boother, Warren, Alexander and Crenan secured the points for Cropthorne.

The Evesham Mechanical Services KO Cup final between Bretforton Old Boys and Broadway United will held on Sunday (5pm) at Evesham United.
