PINVIN UNITED closed the gap at the top of Birdseye Sports Evesham Sunday League Division One to four points with a hard earned 4-2 home win over Cider Mill.

Izod (2), Mather and Bulford scored for Pinvin and Stevens and Dyke were on target for Cider Mill.

Leaders Bretforton Old Boys were surprisingly held 2-2 at home by Jackson Fairfield. Will Gayton’s double put Old Boys in front before goals from Francis and Scrivens levelled matters.

Broadway United’s title hopes were dented as they lost 5-2 at home to Evesham WMC in a game which saw Sibanda (2), Grady and Iorns score for the Workies and Burtenshaw and Evans do likewise for Broadway.




A second half Caswell strike earned Stour Excelsior a 1-0 home success over Inkberrow, whilst Bear won 9-2 at Bredon with goals from Davies (4), Croy (3), Goodwin and Cloke.

Alcester Town reached the last eight of the Evesham Mechanical Services KO Cup after coming from behind to defeat visitors New Inn Pershore 2-1. Brant put New Inn ahead before goals from Richardson and Layton turned the tie around.


Division Two leaders Alderton were thumped 6-0 at in-form, second placed Mickleton Rangers who scored through King, Tye, Pratt, Neal, Mills and Collins.

Fourth placed Harvington fired seven past visitors Broadway United without reply through Woodfield (3), Davies, Philpott, Dalloway and Hensey.

Tewkesbury Town are also well in the promotion mix with games in hand on the leaders and they defeated visitors Badsey Recreation 7-0 as Cox (3), Tarling (2), Dyson and Tillott all found the net.

Evesham United Sunday recorded a 4-0 home victory over Ecosamba thanks to goals from Ashby (2), Coe and Murphy, whilst Cropthorne won 2-0 at Tesco United with goals from Boother & Perks.

Sun Inn moved a point clear at the top of Division Three with a 5-0 success at Stratford United thanks to strikes from Parry (3) and Watts (2) as previous leaders Quinton were held 1-1 at home by Dragons. Brocklehurst scored for Quinton and Jennings netted for Dragons.

Pebworth won 3-1 at Ambi Allsports with goals from Skinner (2) and Rose, whilst Ambi registered through Hall.

Ashton 88 and visitors Stour Excelsior Reserves drew 1-1 with James scoring for Ashton and Venditto doing likewise for Stour, whilst Bengeworth were 2-1 home winners against Fortis.
