Drawn on J31, he won the leg with 29lb 14oz, second was Rob Holloway with the top weight off the Withies pool with 21lb 2oz and section winners were Alan Gardner (12lb 7oz), Billy Pitman (7lb 11oz) and Ron Evans (5lb 2oz).
