PERSHORE High School sixth form student Nat Maginnis has revealed his delight at representing the Worcestershire under 18 county rugby squad.
The 16-year-old from Crowle was selected to play scrum half in a tournament against Herefordshire and Greater Birmingham.
The Worcestershire squad of 22 players was selected after two trials over recent weeks and they played in front of North Midlands selectors at the tournament.
Nat, who is a keen member of the Pershore High School rugby team and plays his club rugby at Droitwich Rugby Club, faced Greater Birmingham U18s and Herefordshire U18s in matches which were played over 30 minutes at Droitwich RFC under the floodlights.
Nat, the youngest member of the Worcestershire team, said: “I am honoured to have been selected to represent my county and would like to thank Pershore High School for having nominated me to attend the trial and my coaches both at school and Droitwich Rugby Club for all their support.”
