Midland League, Division One

DANNY Ludlow kept up his goalscoring form to help Pershore Town win their third match in four by beating Pelsall Villa at the 2020SolarPV Stadium on Tuesday night.

Town took the lead through Ludlow’s tenth goal in his last nine appearances.

Steve Roche was fouled on the edge of the box and Ludlow’s free-kick went through the wall to open the scoring after 12 minutes.

Soon after Roche was floored by the visitors keeper and Ludlow dispatched the penalty. Town continued to create chances with Ludlow hitting the woodwork with two further efforts. Town’s keeper was required to make a couple of saves from long range shots but the result was never in doubt when Dane Aldington headed the third after 70 minutes.

It was a well-deserved victory for Town who have moved up to 14th among a group of mid-order placed clubs with previous relegation concerns now gone.

Town travel to Coventry Copsewood on Saturday hoping to continue the current good run of form having now lost only once in the last six matches.
