THE LADIES have been busy at Evesham Golf Club over the past fortnight, with no less than three trophies being won.

The first of these was the All Comers Trophy donated in 2003 by Lila Bailey, which was won by Dee Machin with 37 points, who edged past runner-up Jill Cleary on countback.

The ladies then played for two trophies, which were both open Stableford competitions.

The Avon Cup for handicaps of 29-36, originally donated by Freda Poole, was won by Lesley Kewley with 38 points. Runner-up with 35 points was Angela Fletcher.

The Craycombe Trophy, donated by Gillian Spencer, was very hotly contested as three ladies all finished on 40 points.

Runners-up were Val Lemon and Mel Evans and the winner on countback was the very reporter of this piece, Marlene Billings, whose handicap has again gone down. She has seen three shots slashed in the last month.

There were celebrations for Mel Evans who scored an eagle two on the par four tenth hole.
