JUDITH Noyce returned a magnificent four under par score to emerge as the clear winner of the Spring Trophy Par competition which was contested by 48 Broadway Golf Club ladies.
Whilst the weather remained kind, there was a very tricky wind to contend with, but Noyce rose to the challenge to win the trophy, which was presented to the club in 1979 by Peggy Rodick.
Taking second place on countback was Jayne Potter who came in all square, leaving Julia Ward to earn a well deserved third spot.
The Seniors’ Open also took place at Broadway and saw a record number of entries as 117 players entered the singles Stableford, with representatives from 38 clubs across the country.
The weather and course conditions were near perfect, leading to some impressive scoring, and Broadway’s Geoff Rees brought in an incredible 44 points which made him overall winner, ahead of Evesham’s Barrie Saggers who was second with an excellent 43.
The Men’s Founders Cup featured a pleasing field of 85 and James Neale took first place with a superb 69 nett and competition best gross 72.
In second position was David Gines with a well deserved 70 nett on countback from third placed William Icke.
