It's a six-pack of medals for Pershore SC

SIX medals were captured by Pershore Swimming Club members at the City of Birmingham Open Meet over the Easter weekend.

Competing against some top clubs in the Midlands including Birmingham, Coventry and Boldmere, the nine-strong Pershore squad produced some excellent times and results as they won one gold medal, two silver medals and three bronze medals.

Patrick Heeks (11) was the lone boy swimming for Pershore and he continued his recent fantastic form with a silver medal in the 100m fly (1.16.36) and bronze medal in the 200m backstroke (2.36.67) as his backstroke time gave him another Midland Qualifying Time (MQT).

Heeks also swam personal bests in the 400m freestyle (5.08.62), 100m IM (1.20.24), 100m breaststroke (1.38.83), 100m backstroke (1.15.89), 100m freestyle (1.08.04) and 200m IM (2.45.39) and clocked (45.98) for the 50m breaststroke.




Hannah Simister produced some powerful swims and reached the finals of both the 200m freestyle and 100m breaststroke as she won a bronze medal in both with 2.29.42 (PB) in the 200m freestyle and 1.28.14 in the 100m breaststroke. She also clocked 39.10 in the 50m fly.

Lauren Annis (10) was another Pershore swimmer to collect medals as she won a gold medal in the 100m breaststroke 1.49.16 (PB) and a silver medal in 100m backstroke (1.32.31 PB). She also produced good swims in the 200m freestyle (3.00.73), 50m fly (43.28) and 100m IM (1.35.32).


Suzanne Capewell was a debutant swimmer for Pershore and produced some great new PBs in the 100m breaststroke (2.07.03), 50m backstroke (50.22), 200m breaststroke (4.29.39) and 100m freestyle (1.40.30) and completed her swims with the 100m IM (1.50.55).

Alex Barry (11) again produced some strong swims in the 400m IM (5.51.45) and a massive 90-second PB in the 800m freestyle (10.34.25).

Other Pershore swimmers who all produced good times and PBs over the weekend were: Macey French (11) – 200m freestyle (2.40.23), 100m backstroke (1.23.05), 100m IM (1.25.95), 100m breaststroke (1.44.72), 100m fly (1.25.70), 50m backstroke (39.21) and 100m freestyle (1.12.86).

Isobel Cumming (12) – 800m freestyle (11.06.07), 200m freestyle (2.36.18), 50m fly (36.64), 100m backstroke (1.22.85), 100m IM (1.26.13), 100m breaststroke (1.43.51) and 200m fly (3.09.60.

Naomi Marsden (12) – 200m freestyle (2.34.88), 50m fly (35.45), 100m backstroke (1.14.75), 100m IM (1.21.21) and 100m breaststroke (1.32.93).

Megan Annis (11) – 200m freestyle (2.32.40), 50m fly (34.91), 100m backstroke (1.15.18), 100m IM (1.19.58) and 100m breaststroke (1.29.53).
