SANDRA PIOVESANA was a popular winner of the Craycombe Trophy at Evesham Golf Club with an impressive 38 points.
Sandra and her husband come over from Italy every year for four weeks and are known as the club’s international members!
They are very active members during their stay and are greatly missed when they return home.
Therefore, Sandra’s trophy success was greeted with pleasure throughout the club as she topped the pile in an 18-strong Stableford competition which featured a maximum handicap of 28.
Second place went to Carolyn Washbourne with 35 points on countback from third placed Marlene Billings.
On the same day the Avon Cup was contested in glorious weather and the course was again as its best with some of the greens a little challenging, which made it very enjoyable.
Fifteen ladies who had handicaps of 29 to 36 played for the cup in a Stableford format and the winner with 39 points was Sandra Insall.
Second was Conryn Abbott with 37 points and third was Penny Osborne with 34 points.
Lila Bailey’s All Comers Charity Trophy was contested by 28 ladies and it was Joan Hunt who took the spoils in the Stableford event with 37 points.
Runner-up with 36 points was Lesley Curnock and third was Melanie Evans with 33 points.
