COURSE and weather conditions were ideal for last week’s ladies’ Stableford at Broadway Golf Club, providing some excellent scoring opportunities for the 32 ladies participating.

Silver Division’s Debbie Donoghue brought in an excellent 38 points to take first place, with Annabelle Guyver a close second with a well earned 36 points.

In the Bronze Division, Sue Jones achieved a commendable first position with 33 points and Valerie de la Pena earned second with 32 points.

The Barbara Stanley Mixed Foursomes took place at the weekend with a full field competing for the prestigious award.

The trophy was presented to the club in 1966 in memory of one of Broadway’s very first ladies’ captain’s (1959-60). The afternoon provided almost uninterrupted sunshine and some impressive scores were brought in.

Trophy winners on the day with an impressive 39 points were Bernard and Debbie Donoghue, with Jane Wheeler and Steve Keyte well deserved runners-up with 38 points.
