WORCESTERSHIRE cricketers swopped bats for clubs to join skipper Daryl Mitchell’s charity golf competition at Evesham Golf Club.
Badsey-born Mitchell has been awarded a benefit year in recognition for his loyalty, dedication and achievements with the County team.
A total of 68 players, including many of the Worcestershire squad, joined the golf competition on a day when the weather was kind and the course was in great shape.
Winners on the day were the team of Norman Robertson, Percy Price, Robin Edwards and Worcestershire player Matt Henry with a fantastic total of 86 points.
In second place was the home team of Kev Stewart, Tony Smith, Anthony Rock and WCCC player Ross Whiteley with 83 points.
Third place went to Pete Lawrance, Will Lawrence, Cecil Duckworth and the host, Daryl Mitchell, with 82 points.
The day raised in excess of £1,700 for Daryl’s charities.
