Cropthorne upset title contenders Rangers

CROPTHORNE dented Mickleton Rangers’ promotion hopes in Division Two of the Birdseye Evesham Sunday League with an excellent 5-3 away win

Tom and John Boother, Warren, Taylor and Dean scored for Cropthorne with third placed Rangers replying through Robinson (2) and Beech.

Tewkesbury Town and Harvington shared six goals in a thrilling match. Tarling (2) and Bloom netted for Town, with Kinnersley, Ferguson and Dallaway replying for Harvington.

Evans (3), Berryman (2), Thompson and Parker scored for Broadway United Res in an excellent 7-1 win against Charlton Old Boys 7-1, while a Happlewhite double helped Ecosamba account for Badsey Recreation.




Sun Inn went back to the top of Division Three with a 4-0 away win at Ambi Allsports, the Winchcombe side scoring through Parry (2), H Roberts and M Roberts.

In Division One Cidermill hit seven past Bredon, thanks to goals from Reading (2), Jeffreys, Hardy, Stevens, Ballard and Cumberland, Evesham WMC led through a Penfold effort before Mark Bellamy struck to earn Pinvin United a point.


Jacksons Fairfield reached the last eight of the Evesham Mechanical Services KO Cup, after goals from Sutton (2), Malin and Hoskin knocked out Tesco United 4-2. Colston and Dovey replied.

In the Express-Funding Mick Godwin Cup two Divison Three sides fell to higher graded opposition.

Bengeworth lost 1-5 to Division Two leaders Alderton who scored through Davis, Charlton, Baker, Bowles and Reid, whilst Fortis bowed out 2-4 to Inkberrow. Wallace and McRae netted for Fortis, their Division One opponents replied through Sheen (2), Hughes and Firkin.
