TESCO United ended Bredon’s perfect start to the Birdseye Sports Evesham Sunday League season and in doing so moved into second place in Division Two as a second half double from Craig Colston was enough to earn the three points in a 2-0 home win.

Cider Mill continue to set the pace in Division Three after winning 5-0 at Stratford United through goals from McKenna (2), Reading, Hardy and Heritage.

Harvington are second in Division Four following their 4-2 victory at Stour Excelsior Reserves in which Woodfield scored twice for Harvington, whilst Charlton Old Boys followed on from the previous weekend’s opening win with a convincing 7-1 home success over Ruby Jacks thanks to goals from Chris Clements (3), Foxall (2), Ainsworth and Lynes.

In the GFA Sunday Intermediate Cup first round, both Ecosamba and Alderton progressed with 5-2 and 5-3 away wins over Frocester United and Mickleton Rangers respectively, whilst in the Minor Cup first round Tewkesbury Town overcame visitors Frampton in a penalty shoot-out following a 2-2 draw.




In the Pershore Hospital Junior Cup first round Broadway United shocked Division One leaders Bear with a 6-2 win on the road, whilst Stour Excelsior defeated hosts Evesham WMC on penalties after a 2-2 draw.

Eckington accounted for Worcester League outfit Claines with a 2-0 home win whilst Fjadbury Athletic won 2-1 at Hallow with goals from Homans and Brain.


In the Minor Cup first round Fortis overcame visitors Offenham Rovers 2-1 thanks to a Powell strike and the help of an own goal, whilst Cropthorne drew 5-5 in a thriller at home to Badsey Recreation, before the hosts prevailed on penalties.

Ambi Allsports lost 4-2 at home to Hallow Reserves and Dragons produced an excellent performance to win 4-2 at Inkberrow.

Jacksons Fairfield maintained their perfect start with a comfortable 8-1 home win in round two over Broadway United Reserves in which Scrivens, Smaylen and Diston all scored twice, whilst Alcester Town won 12-0 at Pebworth as Dance, Richardson and Hoskins all scored hat-tricks.

Bengeworth upset visitors Ambassador 3-1 thanks to goals from Andrew, Mason and Jelfs.

Unfortunately Pershore Athletic FC have withdrawn from Division One, citing a lack of commitment from players.
