Vale youngsters can 'storm' the castle

A POPULAR Evesham retail park has marked the Battle of Evesham commemorations by opening it’s new castle adventure playground.

The Valley, formerly Evesham Country Park, has taken the wraps off the new playground which is in the style of a castle with turrets joined by bridges and climbing panels along with a slide and fireman’s pole.

To reach the playground visitors will take a ride on the Evesham Vale Light Railway steam train, recently named Monty after Simon De Montfort.

Spencer Gower, Eagle One Retail Asset Manager, said: “The Valley Castle Adventure Playground not only adds another element to The Valley but also commemorates the 750th anniversary of the Battle of Evesham, keeping the history alive for the children.”

Antonia Coles, Battle of Evesham Organiser, said: “It is exciting to think of the many local children that will benefit from keeping the history alive through imaginative play and in such a great outdoor setting.”
