VALE petrolheads were treated to a wide range of vintage vehicles at the sixth annual Hampton Ferry ‘Car and Bike Show’.

The popular day out by the riverside on Saturday (June 26) saw visitors enjoy a selection of unique motors, including veteran, vintage, classic, kit car, army vehicles and motorbikes.

Patrick Brotherton won the ‘Vintage 1919-1929’ category with his 1929 Morris Oxford, Sandra Harris won the ‘Vintage pre-1959’ category with her Austin Box 7, Arthur Burroughes won the ‘Best in Show Bike’ category with his Norton Commando and Robert Berry and Stephen Smith won the ‘Spirit of Hampton Ferry’ category with their 1896 Singer Tricycle and VW Camper Van.

Geoff Smith, one of the show’s judges said: “The Car and Bike Show just gets better and better. Every year the categories become more difficult to judge with so many terrific vehicles to choose from.”

Fran Webb, who attended the event said: “The rain stayed away as a fabulous turnout of cars and bikes arrived. Enthusiasts return year after year to this idyllic riverside venue for a wonderfully sociable atmosphere.”
