Still dementia work to do

EVESHAM Dementia Action Alliance were on hand to give shoppers more information about plans to make the town dementia friendly.

The group held an awareness stall outside Tesco last Wednesday (May 18) where residents could find out what Evesham still needs to do, and what the town is already doing, in order to become the first dementia friendly town in Worcestershire.

Jo Hughes, Side by Side Engagement & Involvement Officer, said: “Whilst there was a lot of support and encouragement for our plans to ‘make Evesham a Dementia Friendly Town’ from those people who did come to talk to us, many of these people already had a connection with dementia. “The event emphasised that there is still so much that we need to do to raise awareness and overcome the stigma surrounding dementia”.
