FORMER Pershore High School and X Factor star Giles Potter’s dream has finally come true after he landed a spot in a brand new boyband.

The cheeky teenager is part of new group ‘Stateside’ after hitting the headlines last year during his time on the ITV hit show.

The band also comprises members Joseph Mcveigh, Justin Fehler, Jack Bruley and the son of former England football star Paul Gascoigne, Regan.

According to the band’s Facebook page, their first live performance together will take place in Liverpool on Saturday, August 9.

On Tuesday (July 22), the band met fans in Birmingham city centre and appeared on local radio.

Last year millions of TV viewers saw Giles go through a rollercoaster journey on The X Factor before he agonisingly missed out on a place in the programme’s live shows.

Giles, who now has more than 80,000 followers on Twitter, took an instant pleasing to the show’s judges with his first audition which saw him sing Jessie J’s Price Tag to huge praise from Gary Barlow, Nicole Scherzinger, Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne.

But things were not as convincing in the next round when Giles forgot the words to Jackie Wilson’s Reet Petite which prompted backstage advice from Barlow before impressing once again with Jason Mraz’s I Won’t Give Up.

But the teenager’s hopes of reaching the live finals were dashed in St Tropez when judge Louis Walsh told him he was not part of his final three.
