THOUSANDS of people are expected to flock to the Vale over the Bank Holiday Weekend to watch the annual Evesham Regatta.
Organised by Evesham Rowing Club, the two-day event will take place on Saturday and Sunday (April 30 and May 1) and is expected to welcomed more than a thousand competitors from many parts of the UK in either one, two, four or eight-man crews.
Saturday sees competitors tested along a 1,000km course while Sunday is dedicated to a 500m sprint course.
Racing starts at 9am and continues throughout the day; with an event every five minutes, there is plenty for spectators to enjoy.
Members of the public can watch the event for free from the river bank and can take advantage of the catering and licensed bar provided at The Boat House.
Without sponsors support, it would not be possible to put this event on and put Evesham in the spotlight for sport in the West Midlands.
