CHARITIES, community and voluntary groups can grab a slice of a £50,000 fund being made available by Wychavon District Council to help people get active.

The cash is part of the council’s annual community grants scheme, with the focus this year on projects that help inactive people to move more and take part in physical activity.

Bids can include anything from new play equipment and upgrades to a building, to the provision of new activities for people of all ages and abilities.

Any group thinking of applying for a share of the fund must attend a briefing session on Monday, March 21 at the Civic Centre in Pershore from 6.30pm until 8pm.

The briefing session will give groups the chance to ask any questions they may have and to give them guidance on their applications.

Applications for the grants can be made online at www.wychavon.gov.uk/grants. For more information call 01386 565168.

The deadline for applications in midday on Thursday, March 31.
