TWO men have been charged with murder after a 25-year-old inmate was found seriously injured in a cell at HMP Long Lartin near Evesham.
Russell Anthony Oliver, 46, and Stephen Boorman, 30, will appear at Worcester Magistrates Court today (Wednesday) in connection with the death of John York.
York was pronounced dead by paramedics at approximately 5pm on Sunday (May 31) after an alleged encounter with his fellow prisoners.
Det Insp Mark Bellamy, who is leading the investigation, said: “I would like to take this opportunity to pass my condolences to the victim’s family at what must be a very difficult time,” he added.
