PRUNELLA the Pershore Plum may have found a new love interest ahead of the much anticipated launch of this year’s Plum Festival.
Rumours have been mounting that Prunella, the festival’s mascot, is seeing ‘Agri’, the female mascot for Growers United, after they were ‘papped’ together.
Prunella is set to put the rumours to bed at a special unveiling on Plum Blossom Sunday (July 3) from midday at The Angel Hotel which marks the start of the 2016 Plum Festival.
There will be live music at the event showcasing the best local talent has to offer, including; Bl3nd, Free Will, Josh Harris, Erin Young, Sam n Jac, Vianne Fury and Lucy Gidley.
The event will also see the 2016 Plum Princess and her attendants selected and the Plum Charmer will also be in attendance.
Angela Tidmarsh, Tourism Officer for Wychavon, said: “We wait with baited breath to see who Prunella’s new love interest is.
“I for one can’t wait to see who it is. But the big question is whether I should be buying a new hat? Obviously it would have to be purple.”
