A CARING Evesham youngster proved to be a cut above and had a close shave to raise money for charity.
Leah Clemson, a Year 4 pupil at Bengeworth CE Academy, had a sponsored haircut on Saturday, May 9 in aid of ‘The Little Princess Trust’ who supply real hair wigs, free of charge, to children who suffer hair loss due to illness.
The wigs cost the charity £350 each and kind-hearted Leah not only donated her hair but also decided she wanted to raise money towards the cost of the new wigs.
Despite setting a target of £150, Leah surpassed her aim and raised it to £350 but along with raffle raised a sensational £813.
A school spokesperson said: “We are all extremely proud of Leah and she has said she will grow it again to do the same in a couple of years.”
