OWNERS of the Evesham Retail Park have launched an investigation into what caused a large pane of glass to shatter above Boots.

Emergency services were called to the Worcester Road shopping centre last Tuesday (September 13) to secure the 12ft x 6ft pane on the first floor of the retail unit.

Nobody was injured the incident, but questions were raised about the safety of the panes of glass following a similar incident in December of last year in which another pane of glass on the ground floor of the Boots store also shattered.

A spokesperson for Evesham Retail Park said: “We are aware a pane of glass that makes up the exterior of the Boots store has broken.

“This has been secured and we are working with Boots to investigate the cause of this incident. The safety of our customers is of the utmost importance.”
