Evesham's RAFA calls for additions to family

Evesham Editorial 6th Feb, 2016 Updated: 20th Oct, 2016   0

A RALLYING call has been issued for new recruits to sign up for Evesham’s Royal Air Force Association.

Any current or former RAF personnel living across the Vale is invited to get in touch to spread the word about the help, support and fellowship offered by the popular association.

From something as simple as a visit to chat to former personnel, opportunities to socialise or financial support in times of need, the association is there to help.

Members of all ages are welcome as well as spouses, widows, widowers and other dependants who have a connection with the force.

Branch President David Lee said: “We regard them all as part of the RAF family.

“And by becoming a local branch member, they can join in all of our social events, such as trips out or meetings with other branches,” he added.

The association also runs the annual Wings Week appeal which sees local volunteers take to the streets of Evesham raising funds to help those in need.

“It’s a tremendously worthwhile activity that raises awareness as well as funds we use to help members and their families,” Mr Lee added.

“I’d urge anyone who is serving or who has served in the RAF to come along to one of our meetings to see what we are all about.

“It’s free to visit and we are always keen to meet new people!,” he said.

Write to branch secretary Robin Phillips at 24 Briar Close, Evesham, WR11 4JQ or call 01386 41604 for more information.
