Evesham's McDonald's will go 24/7 by the end of the year

EVESHAM’S McDonald’s is likely to open 24 hours a day, seven days a week ‘nearer the end of the year’ after planning chiefs backed changes to the restaurant’s opening hours.

Planning Officers on Wychavon District Council have approved the changes to the Charity Crescent restaurant’s opening hours after franchise owners, McLean Restaurants Ltd, called for the Evesham chain to be brought into line with the majority of McDonald’s restaurants in the UK.

Concerns were raised by Evesham Town Council about the impact the changes would have on litter and noise pollution in the area, but neither Worcestershire Regulatory Services nor West Mercia Police shared their concerns and didn’t raise any objections to the 24 hour opening hours.

Sarah McLean, who runs McLean Restaurants Ltd, said: “I am very pleased with the decision.

“Since I purchased the business just over 3 years ago, I have had a fair amount of contact with the local authority in making applications to either extend the hours or improve the restaurant experience by making the drive-thru experience better in adding another lane.

“I now need to wait for the decision from the licensing team, so if successful would not be making any change to the hours until nearer the end of the year.”
