AS I GET older Christmas comes around faster and faster.
This would have been wonderful when I was far younger; with the quickening of festive gifts and celebrations, but now it feels that there is so little time to set get things done.
This is equally true for councils now, lots of things change all the time but I hope in Wychavon you still think we continue to give you with good services.
This year has brought us many challenges, but it has also brought with it lots of positives. A personal highlight for me was the Tour of Britain, which went through many of our towns and villages.
Events like this never cease to amaze me in that they capture the imaginations of our residents and businesses.
People came out in their droves to cheer on theses inspiring athletes in the biggest free spectator sport out there.
And that’s not all, it is estimated that the Tour of Britain gave the Worcestershire economy a boost of almost £1 million – which is not to be sniffed at and another important contribution to our local economy.
The economy continues to be our number one priority and our book ‘Grow in Wychavon’, which profiles 52 successful businesses, went on tour recently to schools and colleges.
This was to inspire our young people to be entrepreneurs and we took local business people with us to help get the messages across.
Needless to say this creative approach went down very well with our young people who are so important to our economy.
On that note a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful and prosperous New Year.
