Coffee morning in Ted's memory for Macmillan

A COFFEE morning is being held by the family of the late Ted Annis in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

The event will be held at Pershore Naval Social Club – which Mr Annis founded along with the Pershore and District Royal Naval Association – tomorrow (Saturday), and will host refreshments including home-made cakes, jams and marmalades along with a grand draw.

Ted’s daughter Trudy Burge, said: “So many members of our family have been affected by cancer over the years, the latest being one of my cousins who has undergone extensive chemotherapy for the last 18 months.

“Despite all that she is going through and how ill this treatment leaves her, she is inspiring in her determination to carry on and reminds me of how my Dad did the same.

“This event is completely her idea and is a way of giving something back to help others going through the same trauma.

“My cousin is the driving force behind organising our family to get up and do something positive, by putting on this coffee morning in support of the national ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ event.

“Back in 2008 my Mum and Dad raised £500 for Macmillan by receiving donations instead of gifts for their Golden Wedding Anniversary. I hope we can either match or top that amount.”

The coffee morning will run from 10.30am to 12.30pm.
