Club’s chips are now on the up

A KIND-HEARTED Evesham mobile fish and chip van business has stepped in to ensure a local football team can continue to hit the back of the net.

Youngsters and volunteers at Badsey Rec Football Club were facing heartbreak earlier this year when, faced with no sponsorship, their future looked bleak.

But thanks to the generosity of Starchip Enterprise, the club is looking forward to the new season with a new strip and logo.

One of the oldest teams in the league, Badsey Rec have been on the football field for more than two decades.

And to celebrate the sponsorship, there will be a football tournament at Badsey Rec tomorrow (Saturday) where the players and coaches will debut the new kit.

The iconic Starchip Enterprise van will also be on site to highlight the community service which attends local care homes, local charitable events, fetes, festivals and school fetes as well as local weddings, birthdays, christenings and kids parties.

Before the tournament kicks off, the caring staff have teamed up with Vale Green Deal Advisory Services and Timeshare Relief for a charity dance.

The event is being held tonight (Friday) from 7pm till late, again at Badsey Rec, with all proceeds going towards Cancer Research UK.

Badsey Old School Ravers Association welcome DJ Jock for ‘A Night of Nostalgia’ in aid of the worthwhile cause.

Tickets can be bought from The Red Horse Evesham, Badsey Rec or by calling Jeff on 07854 494204

Tickets cost £7.50 in advance or £10 on the night with all proceeds going to the charity.
