POLICE have released a CCTV image of a woman they would like to speak to following an attempted fraud at a phone shop in Evesham.

It’s believed the woman pictured, who was in the store at the time, may hold vital information which could help officers with their investigation following the incident at the shop on Bridge Street at about 4.45pm on Tuesday, July 5.

An unknown suspect, believed to have spoken with a London accent, walked into the shop and attempted to buy two iPhones worth approximately £1300.

Staff at the store became suspicious of the person’s behaviour after the alleged fraudster tried to use a suspected false or cloned bank statement and card.

Anyone who may recognise the woman pictured or witnessed suspicious behaviour in the store at the time is urged to call police on 101, quoting incident number 520s on July 5.

Alternatively, information can be passed on anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 or via their website.
