ORGANISERS of the Battle of Evesham 2015 have won the support of the Worcestershire branch of the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB).

The FSB will support local businesses participating in this year’s Medieval Festival on Saturday August, 8 and Sunday August, 9, including sponsoring the Best Dressed Shop Window competition and the Children’s Treasure Hunt.

The shop window competition aims to encourage local businesses to get involved with the festival, and prizes will be awarded to the business with the best dressed window display.

Development manager of the FSB for Worcestershire, Angela Fitch said: “Independent businesses are, and always have been, at the very heart of Evesham.

“It’s a privilege for FSB to be part of the town’s Medieval Festival, as the event has attracted an amazing amount of support and FSB wishes every business the success they deserve.”

Antonia Coles of the Battle of Evesham, said: “We’re delighted to have the FSB on board with the festival.

“Helping bring visitors to the town and supporting local businesses is really important to us, so this partnership will help us to achieve both goals.”

A battle re-enactment will take place over the Medieval Festival weekend to commemorate the historic importance of the Battle of Evesham, and a series of tours and talks about the conflict will take place between Saturday August, 1 and Saturday August, 15.
