A DEDICATED civil servant from Evesham has been awarded an Imperial Service Medal for her decades of service and dedication to the military.
Angela Arthur, from Hampton, first joined the civil service at Long Marston in 1984 as a Regimental Secretary, before moving on to support 214 Battery Royal Artillery.
For twenty years she was the “sheet anchor,” providing the stability essential to a family regiment, wherever servicemen and women were posted around the world they knew if they called the headquarters then Angela would be there to offer advice and information.
When the Regimental headquarters finally closed in 2012, Angela continued her service and moved to the Central Vehicle Depot at Ashchurch, near Tewkesbury.
In front of many of her former colleagues at Norton Barracks Angela was presented the award by Brigadier Pat Hargrave CBE, former Colonel of the Worcestershire and Sherwood Foresters Regiment.
