All that jazz at heart of festival

PERSHORE’S famous Jazz Festival is returning to the town and will see more than 150 acclaimed musicians will celebrate the colourful history of jazz.

The event will present the very best in jazz by local, national and internationally renowned musicians, with a diverse programme of styles on offer from Friday (August 21) to Sunday (August 23) at Pershore College.

The 14th annual three day festival will entertain the town with traditional, mainstream, gypsy swing, big band and modern jazz by top artists such as The Midland Youth Jazz Orchestra with Elaine Delmar, Digby Fairweather’s Half Dozen and New Orleans based The Session.

Peter Farrall, Pershore Jazz Festival secretary said: “It’s a wonderful way to spend a summer weekend at ‘the small festival with the big heart’.




“There will be more than 30 sessions across four venues in the delightful environment of Pershore to satisfy all tastes and moods.

“There will also be a restaurant and bar available all day and the College Plant Centre will offer a discount for gardening jazz fans.”


The festival runs from 7.45pm to 11pm on Friday, 11.45am to 10.45pm on Saturday and 10.30am to 10.45pm on Sunday.

Admission prices cost £17 for the Friday evening and £30 each for Saturday and Sunday.
