Evesham Editorial 20th Mar, 2015 Updated: 20th Oct, 2016   0

FOLLOWING its sell-out run in Manchester last year the ground breaking stage production of Hamlet will come to Pershore’s Number 8 Community Arts Centre.

Featuring Maxine Peake in the title role, the show will be screened on Monday (March 23) and Thursday, April 23 at 7.30pm.

This ground-breaking stage production, directed by Sarah Frankcom, was the Royal Exchange’s fastest-selling show in a

decade.

Alongside Maxine Peake as the Prince, a number of other roles, including Polonious and Rosencrantz, are also played by women.

Shakespeare’s most iconic play, Hamlet explodes with big ideas and is the ultimate play about loyalty, love, betrayal, murder and madness.

In this stripped-back, fresh and fast-paced version, BAFTA nominee Maxine Peake creates a Hamlet for now.

Recorded at the Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester Hamlet is brought to cinemas by director Margaret Williams and producers Anne Beresford and Debbie Gray.

Tickets are on sale now priced at £14, with students and children being admitted for £10.

Call the Box Office on 01386 555488 or visit www.number8.org for further details of Number 8’s film programme or to book tickets.
