PERSHORE’S Number 8 Community Arts Centre is inviting residents to explore and immerse themselves in a spy story entangled with hubris, betrayal and deceit.

Cuckooed – winner of Edinburgh Fringe First Award 2014 and Amnesty International Freedom of Expression Award 2014 – is coming to the Number 8 next Friday (October 16), to tell the mesmerising true story of how Britain’s biggest arms manufacturer, BAE Systems, came to spy on a comedian.

The show is written and performed by award winning performer Mark Thomas, and focuses on how his friend was exposed as a spy for BAE Systems infiltrating the movement.

It is a personal and timely tale that tries to unearth what it means to be spied upon by a corporation under the sanction of the state, and is packed with plenty of laughs and weird characters as Mark tries to decide whether he should take revenge on his friend or forgive him.

The show starts at 7.30pm and tickets cost £15.
