PERSHORE residents are being invited to enjoy a musical drama set against the backdrop of the First World War.

Badapple Theatre Company is delighted to announce its production of ‘The Thankful Village’ will be performed at Pershore Number 8 Community Arts Centre on Friday (May 13).

The play tells the tale of the quiet village backwater of Bottledale as it is changed forever by the advent of the Great War in Europe.

Follow the hope, humour and humanity of men who went away and left their partners behind, before re-uniting for better or for worse in the winter of 1918.

The play is written by Kate Bramley with music by Sony award-winning songwriter Jez Lowe and is supported by Shindig, Arts Council England, Wychavon District Council and Worcestershire County Council.

The show will run from 7.30pm to 9.30pm and will include an interval.

Tickets cost £12 for adults, £10 students and £8 for children 16 and under.

There will be an 85p fee if tickets are booked online.

Call the theatre’s Box Office on 01386 555488 for more information.
