Andrew brings the darker side

STAND-UP comedy’s foremost creepy-faced, weird-voiced ginger comedian brings his special brand of dark humour to Evesham next week.

Funnyman Andrew Lawrence, recently featured on BBC 3’s Edinburgh Fringe Live and BBC 1’s Live at the Apollo, will be taking to the stage at the Victoria Avenue building on Thursday (September 25).

A regular on Channel 4’s Stand-Up For The Week, Andrew has had three series of his own show on BBC Radio 4. He’s a double Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee.

Now he’s inviting audiences to come and laugh as he jokes about his disappointing life and the amusing thoughts he’s cobbled together about how awful the world is.

Andrew’s range of strange voices alone make him much more of a stand-out comedian and is labelled the master of a different and dark comedy – misanthropically railing against the world – revelling in show titles like ‘Too Ugly For Television’, ‘Don’t Just Do Something’, ‘Sit There’ and ‘How to Butcher Your Loved Ones’.

Andrew’s stand-up career kick-started when he received rave recognition in all the key new act competitions. He quickly went on to establish himself as a regular favourite on the comedy circuit, gigging at all the major clubs across the country, earning

2010 and 2011 Chortle Best Headliner Nominations and building a base of discerning fans.

As well as growing reputation as a touring artist, Andrew’s TV profile has continued to rise over recent years with a string of high profile appearance on some of UK television’s most high profile comedy shows.

Tickets on sale now price £15 (£13 concessions), from Evesham Almonry in Abbey Road or by visiting www.eveshamartscentre.co.uk or calling the Box Office on 01386 446944. Audiences must be aged 16 or over.
